Latest Updates At GDM - June 2023

Here at GameDev Market, we're always looking at ways to constantly improve the site, whether it's directly for members or making changes to the backend to assist the team with the day to day running of the site. 

So we wanted to give a quick update on a handful of the latest changes that have gone live on GDM;

We've now made it much easier for members looking at individual assets to know whether the asset is available to buy in a bundle, meaning they can pick them up as part of a bigger selection of assets with a huge discount.

Now, when anyone lands on the page of an asset that is included in a live bundle, the cover image will have a banner overlaid on it with a link to the bundle the asset is part of, as seen below with the FinalBossBlues asset bundle.   

Since the launch of the full rebuild back in March, the News page styling had left a lot to be desired, but we've now given it a much cleaner and clearer overall look, making it a lot easier to browse and find individual posts.

Asset sellers can finally now utilise YouTube and/or SoundCloud embeds again to help showcase their work better! 

This is something numerous sellers had queried and we're glad to have it added back as an option for people, though any YouTube/SoundCloud links previously added on the old GDM website will need to be added back in to the new fields that have been added to the first asset upload details page, as shown below.

 

Media embeds will now display below the asset description on asset pages and we're currently limiting this to one of each, though this may be increased in the future based on demand. 

This one isn't about an update on the site, more just something to clear up as we have had a few people asking about whether the GDM watermark image would be updated from our old logo to the new logo.

It is something we had considered amending, however we are opting against doing so, primarily because it would mean that we end up with an inconsistent mix of old/new watermark images across the site, as we definitely wouldn't want to ask members to update all of their sample images!

Plus, we felt that keeping the current watermark in place was a nice little nod back to the original GDM logo.


We'll look at making this a regular feature on our News section whenever there's something worth letting you know about and, as always, we'd love to hear any feedback you may have on the site to give us details of changes you'd like us to consider.
