It's time to let you know about the latest main updates that have gone live on the site since our previous post back in June.
Moving to fully AI-free
We announced a couple of weeks back that we're taking the next step in our stance on generative AI assets, by requiring any assets uploaded prior to our ban in 2023 to now be removed from the store - you can read more on this in our post here.
Sample File Management
It's something we've been meaning to implement for quite some time after numerous requests from asset creators, so we're glad to announce that sellers can now fully manage the sample files shown on their listings, with the option to add, remove and re-order files from the main asset upload/edit process.
We've implemented a new messaging option to allow us to send key updates to all members through an on-site inbox.
These messages will only ever be utilised for major site updates and information, they will never be used for any marketing messages and, for the time being at least, they will only be delivered to your GDM inbox, appearing as a notification on your account Dashboard.Broadcast Messaging
Video Cover Images
We've now added the option for sellers to set their cover image on the main asset page to display as an embedded YouTube video.
If you want to set a video for the cover, you will still need to include a standard cover image as well, as this will be displayed in category and search listings, then on the main asset page the video will display as the cover and the static image will appear in the sample file section.
We primarily had 3D assets in mind for this, to allow 3D creators to show the full extent of their assets, however, we also appreciate this could be useful for other assets as well, so it is available for all.
Merch Store
We launched the merch store back in June and it includes a variety of clothing and other GDM branded items, you can check it out here - https://merch.gamedevmarket.net/.
