What made you become a dev/artist?:
I always felt the need to create things. Even when my job was not a creative one, I would do little projects on my own time. Drawing, painting, anything artistic.
I grew up in the 90s, so I followed the evolution of video games almost from the start and have always been fascinated by them. They were very important for me as I grew, and I had always wanted to be part of it.
I worked on VFX for advertising for years, and I learned a lot. But I felt that I needed something different, more personal, and the knowledge I got there can be applied to the visual side of videogames. So I jumped. I am learning new things every day, and although it is a struggle sometimes, it is also very rewarding, and I could not be happier. And I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with very interesting people along the way.
Favourite software/tools to use?:
Blender, Photoshop and Unity are my favourite tools.
What’s one tip you would give to someone starting out?:
It takes time. Enjoy the ride. I think games can be a product, but they can also be an artistic expression. If you value both sides, you will always feel good about what you are doing, even if you are not making much money. Everybody needs to pay the bills, but creating something that you are proud of can change your life and how you feel about it for the better.
How do you promote your work (games or assets)?:
I have my own website for my assets, and I use Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to announce new things I am doing, but I hate social media, so I am not very active there. It is something I need to work on.
What project are you working on now?:
Right now I am working on my first solo-developed game. It is a horror pixel art game. And I hope to start promoting it very soon. For now it is called "the rotten idol".

Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers. The original, with its beautiful pixel art.
The art is amazing, and until this day I love it and it is one of my favorites. Every place you visit has its charm. The characters feel real, and the story was something that I have never seen on a videogame before. It changed my perception of what a game could be and what could make me feel. It was the first time I felt like I was living my own movie.
