Member Spotlight - Dara90

For the end of this year, we present you our Featured creator and member under the spotlight for this month Dara90! She’s joining us right from Spain! Dara90 aka Azunapixels, joined us in September 2016, and since then, she hasn’t disappointed us with her great collection of assets.

Developer, Asset Creator or are you a bit of both?:

Right now I’m working as a pixel artist / animator for a videoconferencing company (creating animations/customization), as well as attending assignments for clients who need assets for their videogame projects, in addition to making Assets.

Full Time, Part Time or Hobby?:   Full time.

How long have you been doing this?:  Being a pixel artist for about 3 years.

What made you become a dev/artist?:

I think the influence of retro video games has been fundamental. Thanks to my interest in them I was investigating more and, since I always liked drawing, I saw that it could be a good way to express my ideas/designs.

Favourite software/tools to use?:

Aseprite/Paint.NET

What’s one tip you would give to someone starting out?:

I would tell him/her not to give up, to be consistent and try to motivate himself/herself with whatever is around him/her.

How do you promote your work (games or assets)?:

I promote them through social networks, portfolios and showcase pages, which serve as a springboard to reach people all over the world.

What project are you working on now?:

Now I would like to work on assets focused on 1bit, with different themes and with different game objectives.

Any completed projects/work you want to promote?

Right now I’m working as a freelancer in a very interesting company called Sowork. I’ve been there for almost a year and and mix different styles, among them with I work, pixels.

Favourite game ever & why?:

Street of rage, I love this saga, I think it’s a game that you never get tired of playing and for me it’s still in my top videogames.
