It's time for one of the most prolific asset creators on the store to go under the Member Spotlight. RobertBrooks, from here in the UK, has been a member of GDM since September 2015 and in that time has built up a huge collection of almost 700 assets, with a wide variety of tilesets, character packs, environment objects and tons more, all in his distinct style.

GDM Username: RobertBrooks
Name/Nickname: Robert Brooks
Age: 40
Country: United Kingdom.
Developer, Asset Creator or are you a bit of both?:
Asset creator.
Full Time, Part Time or Hobby?:
All three, I do this as a full time profession,
then on the evenings I do it part-time drawing out future designs
then I also do it as a hobby, on the weekends, just to unwind. This isn't a joke.
How long have you been doing this?:
Almost a decade.
What made you become a dev/artist?:
Always loved computing and art. Game asset creation is the perfect mix of the two, I'm really grateful to live in a time where both can be combined.
Favourite software/tools to use?:
My favorite tool for vectoring is hands down Inkscape. Being open source and free developers who wish to open and modify assets won't need expensive subscriptions or software to do so. SVG vector format is an industry standard too.
What’s one tip you would give to someone starting out?:
My best tip would be to put in the work even if it doesn't pay.
How do you promote your work (games or assets)?:
I don't really promote my work at all, apart from a single social media post when an new asset is released. I really can't be bothered to spend any time on promotion. The more time I spend on promotion the less time I have to create more assets.
What project are you working on now?:
I'm currently creating a huge ancient Egyptian themed bundle which will allow developers to create side scrollers, point and clicks and platformers with an ancient Egyptian theme.
And finally, favourite game ever & why?:
zelda link to the past. It was the first game I ever played that really pulled me into the game world and it's lore.
